Sniper-grade accuracy meets military-grade tactical toughness in the legendary Remington Defense M24 platform, engineered to deliver extended-range precision and ultimate operator adjustability
The Victrix Scorpio Mille rifle is uniquely crafted by Victrix armaments with Military and Law Enforcement in mind. The Scorpio is part of the Minerva Series and ensures the highest degree of accuracy and repeatability. When it comes to long range precision shooting, magnum calibers like the .300 Winchester Magnum, .300 Norma Magnum, or .338 Lapua Magnum are a natural choice, that’s why the Scorpio has chamberings for all three. The cleverly designed, fully modular rifle chassis (FMRC) allows you to customize your rifle for a variety of applications. The chassis is also made of aluminum alloy and hard anodized to prevent scratching and abrasion. The Scorpio is a rifle that celebrates precision and attention to detail.
It would appear that Remington refuses to let the XM2010 Sniper Rifle platform die. The XM2010 was originally renamed M2010 and now it’s once again revamped but this time with a new .308 Winchester specific designation. The new model designation is the “700 ESR-1 Enhanced Sniper Rifle”.
APO Custom Shop client Britton, an experienced and accomplished hunter out in Montana, offered to field test APO’s SABER M700 Sport-TAC rifle chambered in .30-06 this hunting season. He’s got tags for big game and predators which are a great match for the .30-06 Sport-TAC! In 2016 Britton cleanly harvested this nice Montana Big Horn Sheep at 388 yards and this Pronghorn Antelope (above) in 2017 at 596 yards both with his APO custom built SPR-300WM precision rifle chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum. Really nice field shooting!
Britton plans to give the SABER M700 Sport-TAC a real-world workout over a couple of months in different configurations on his upcoming hunts. APO provided him with a complete rifle, ammunition and various modular shoulder stocks, hinges and alternate forends so he could set up the SABER M700 Sport-TAC MSR the way he wants to hunt with it! Also, we’ll get some honest feedback on APO’s use of the very popular Magpul CTR carbine shoulder stock with ¾” cheek riser on this field rifle and does it really work for hunting or just look tactic-cool?

The Ruger Precision Rifle is one of the most innovative and exciting precision-rifle platforms on the market, and the addition of a PROOF Research carbon fiber barrel can enhance the platform and bring its performance to the next level. The carbon fiber barrel from PROOF Research features an internal barrel constructed with 416R stainless-steel that features match-grade qualities. The company then surrounds the barrel with its patented carbon-fiber-based matrix, which provides a number of incredible features. The barrels are 64 percent lighter than standard options. Accuracy is guaranteed with match-grade components. Barrel life is improved through enhanced heat dissipation. Barrel harmonics are improved, as well as reduced POI shift during fire. The PROOF Research carbon fiber barrel for the Ruger Precision Rifle also features a threaded muzzle with 5/8×24 TPI thread pitch, making it easy to add a number of aftermarket accessories to the gun’s muzzle.
The Winchester XPC Rifle is a welcome addition to ever growing list of factory equipped chassis based bolt action rifles. On paper and in pictures the XPC seems to be well thought out and designed. The Winchester XPC Chassis rifle features a Magpul Generation III PRS stock, 20MOA picatinney rail, threaded barrel muzzle, aluminum chassis and utilizes Magpul AICS magazines, It will be interesting to see if the XPC can make a showing against the monstrously successful and out of stock Ruger Precison Rifle.

The Remington Model 700 Magpul 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle is a bold move from Remington in a few ways. The first being the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge caliber. Many felt that Remington would never offer 6.5CM because it is too similar to .260 Remington. Fortunately that theory was incorrect. Remington wisely sees the writing on the wall and recognizes that 6.5 Creedmoor is not a passing fad and is poised to be a game changer in long range accuracy and power. Remington also recognizes there’s money to be made in a modern Remington Model 700 Rifle.
The next bold move is the offering of a factory rifle that features the Magpul Hunter modular chassis. First off traditional hunters may not recognize or be familiar with Magpul but AR-15, AR-10 and 308 AR shooters are. Magpul is a staple brand offering some of the best magazines and stocks in the business. Magpul is a breath of fresh air to the bolt action rifle. The Magpul hunter stock is like a bolt action rifle version of the Magpul PRS AR stock. This is a good thing and it’s a big step away from standard Bell & Carlson synthetic rifle stocks offered by Remington for decades.
The adoption of the Magpul stock brings with it the ability for a Remington 700 factory rifle to use Accuracy International “AICS” type magazines. These are the standard among most sniper rifles and rifle chassis. Magpul AICS magazines are very inexpensive.
Building the lightest and strongest rifle possible
In March, KUIU founder Jason Hairston visited the Remington Custom Shop in Sturgis, South Dakota, where we presented him with a number of options for each component that will comprise the Ultimate Sheep Rifle. We discussed the pros and cons of each with regards to Hairston’s wants and needs for the gun. After hours of deliberation, here’s where we landed.
Remington Ultimate Sheep Rifle Action – Remington 700 Titanium; 8 oz.
Hairston opted for a titanium Model 700 action in 6.5 Creedmoor (more on the caliber choice in a future post). Remington’s custom titanium actions are so precisely machined, to such tight tolerances, that secondary blueprinting—a step required of nearly any factory action—is not necessary. The bolt will feature an M-16 extractor and dual ejectors, as well as a Badger Ordnance Mini Knob.
The Mossberg MVP LC combines the accurate MVP Rifle Platform with a lightweight MDT LSS Chassis, Magpul Stock, and an optional Vortex Optics Viper HS-T Rifle Scope.
The new Cadex Kraken (Cadex Defence CDX-MC Kraken), is a multi-caliber rifle using an innovative (patent pending) barrel change system. This system is the only true no point of impact change between take-down and reassembly of the same barrel. Cadex Kraken is using traditional barrel to action threading system while incorporating a special tool designed to unscrew and torque its barrel from the breech side.
AI AXMC: The latest in a long and distinguished line of combat proven sniper rifles, the AX series comprises the stand-alone AI AX308 (.308 Win) and the multi caliber AI AXMC, a .338 Lap Mag which can be reconfigured to .300 Win Mag or.308 Win in minutes simply by changing the barrel, bolt and magazine/insert.
