J Allen Global Closes Doors

J Allen JAE 700 Rifle Chassis

J. Allen Rifle Chassis Manufacturer Out Of Business

Well this is disappointing news and perhaps a sign of the dismal state of the firearm history. I guess I’m going to need a different chassis for my 6.5 Creedmoor Long Range Sniper Rifle project.

To our valued customers and fans of J. Allen:

It is with great sadness that after 16 years of designing and manufacturing one of the highest quality chassis systems in the world, we have recently had to layoff our employees and close our doors.

We appreciate all of you and wish that it did not have to come to this, but we were unable to find a solution to stay open. Please understand and respect that this is extremely difficult for our family and employees, and wish that we could have kept on going.

For everyone on our 5 person team, customers were our number 1 priority and it hurts us that it ended this way. At this time, we are unable to give any more info, and if that changes in the future, we will let you know.

Thank you to all who have believed in our products and loved them as much as we did. This was our life.

Sincerely,

Lisa, Jeff, and J. Allen Team

Remington M24 Description

The M24 Sniper Rifle is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO (.308 Winchester) is outfitted with a 24” 416 stainless steel bull (#8 contour) barrel. The barrel is 5R rifled with a 1:11.25” right hand twist that provides excellent accuracy for almost all .308 loads. Additionally, the barrel features a post for the attachment of a front target sight found on all M24 Sniper Rifles. Despite being chambered for a short action cartridge the M24 is built on the Remington 700 long action – allowing the rifle to be rechambered for the .300 Winchester Magnum (bolt change/modification required), a request made by the US Army when the M24 was developed.

The single stage trigger was designed specifically for the M24 Rifle, is externally adjustable from 3.5-5 pounds, and the internal magazine holds up to 5 cartridges. The stock of the M24 Sniper Rifle is as solid as they come – produced by HS Precision, the stock is made from aramid fiber-reinforced composite. Additionally, the stock is hand adjustable for length of pull. The M24’s action is mounted to the stock via rigid aluminum mounting block that free floats the rifle’s barrel for enhanced accuracy and repeatability when using a bipod or shooting bag.

Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to own the M24, a rifle that has served honorably and reliably with members of the US Armed Forces for three decades!

MDT ELITE SCOPE RINGS

MDT ELITE SCOPE RINGS
MDT Elite Scope Rings with Built In Anti-Cant Level

Anti-Cant devices are very important to long range precision shooters, it’s good to see scope ring and scope mount manufacturers incorporate anti-can’t bubble levels into their product offerings. Modular Driven Technologies the folks behind the MDT TAC21 Chassis System are now offering their Elite Scope Rings with Built In Level. MDT makes good stuff so I have every expectation that these rings will be well made and accurate.

What’s an Anti-Cant Device Do? as the name implies it’s a level designed to help the shooter hold the rifle perfectly level and avoid “canting” or tilting the rifle when taking a shot.

Scope Tube Diameters

  • 30mm
  • 34mm
  • 35mm

Scope Ring Heights

  • Low .820″
  • Medium 1.000″
  • High 1.250″
  • Extra High 1.500″

MDT ELITE SCOPE RINGS

MDT Elite Scope Rings offer a solid, lightweight mounting system for your optics. Made from precision-machined aluminum.

MDT ELITE SCOPE RING DETAILS

The MDT Elite Scope Rings offer a solid, lightweight mounting system for your optics. Made from precision-machined aluminum, they are available in 30mm and 34mm diameters. The two diameter options are available in four different heights (measured from top of rail to center of bore).

MDT ELITE SCOPE RING SPECIFICATIONS

  • Designed for ultimate precision and strength
  • 25mm (0.984”) of lateral contact with scope tube
  • 30mm (1.181”) of lateral contact with mounting rail
  • The main body is machined on an automated seven-axis, high-end CNC machine tool
  • Extra wide profile provides extremely stable mounting
  • The bottom rail interface is machined at the same time as the scope clamp interface, guaranteeing all rings are square and parallel
  • CMM checked to 1.5 millionths of an inch precision
  • Machined from Billet 7075-T651 Aluminum – 1/3 the weight of steel with similar strength
  • Extra thick clamp system will never bend, fatigue, or become loose with use
  • Built-in bubble level on medium, high, and extra-high rings (No bubble level on low rings)
  • Stepped base-to-cap interface allows the fasteners on one side to be tightened before making final scope alignment adjustments
  • Six oversized #8-32 Grade 8 fasteners used for clamping the scope
  • Sleek curves blend well into most scopes

MDT Precision Scope Rings are designed and manufactured to STANAG 4694 specification, also known as “NATO spec”. This means the scope ring sits tight to the top of the scope base rail, with pressure being applied to the underside of the angled rail surfaces to maintain a solid interface (as shown below). This design also allows mounting on out-of-spec rails:

MDT ELITE SCOPE RINGS STANAG 4694 SPECIFICATION

MDT ELITE SCOPE RINGS STANAG 4694 SPECIFICATION

By contrast, US MIL-STD-1913 spec mounts attach only to the angles sides of the rail, leaving a small gap between the top of the rail and the underside of the mount, and significantly reducing the amount of contact area between the mount and rail:

Testing performed by NATO has shown that the STANAG attachment method increases the robustness of the interface, leading to increased alignment repeatability. MDT Elite Precision Scope rings can be mounted to scope base rails designed to both the STANAG and MIL-STD specifications.

MDT ACC CHASSIS SYSTEM

MDT ADJUSTABLE CORE COMPETITION ACC CHASSIS SYSTEM

MDT Adjustable Core Competition ACC Chassis System

The ACC (Adjustable Core Competition) Chassis is designed around an integrated, modular weight system which allows you to customize the balance and mass of your rifle to maximize performance and minimize recoil.

The ACC comes with a Skeleton Rifle Stock with a steel butt pad plate, for added weight, and a dedicated space to add even more weight to the stock if required.

The ACC Chassis features a full Arca rail the entire length of the forend and M-LOK mounting points for accessories and additional forend weights – both internal and external – allowing you to add up to an additional 9 pounds of steel to your rifle.

This post updates our earlier MDT ACC post. View our other MDT posts

MDT ADJUSTABLE CORE COMPETITION ACC CHASSIS SYSTEM DETAILS

Adjustable Core Competition chassis system is designed for the competition world: the ACC is primarily suited for the PRS & NRL shooting style, although it can be used in other disciplines. The ACC chassis system is the result of endless testing and collaborating with competition shooters, implementing the most crucial and results driven features, while ensuring accuracy and precision remain unparalleled.

The ACC (keyword A for Adjustable) was created with an integrated weight management system, allowing shooters to fine tune their chassis’ weight and balance point. The adjustability comes from a series of weights that can be added to either the buttstock, interior forend or exterior forend m-lok. It’s original weight of 5.9 lbs transforms into a maximum of 12.3 lbs (chassis only – add on your action, barrel, scope and accessories and most shooters are pushing 25-30 lbs in the ACC).

All of this modularity and adjustment can be achieved without taking your barreled action out of the chassis system: internal forend weights can be inserted from the front of the forend and screwed in place, while external weights were designed to be M-LOK compatible and easily attached on either side of the forend. This ACC weight management system allows shooters to rapidly adjust the feel and recoil characteristics of their system, even while at the range.

Along with other features like the full 17” ARCA/RRS forend, flared magazine well, extended barricade stop, widened thumb shelf, adjustable cheek riser and length of pull – the Adjustable Core Competition chassis is nothing short of excellence for the competition shooting world.

MDT ADJUSTABLE CORE COMPETITION ACC CHASSIS SYSTEM MOUNTING AND COMPATIBLE ACCESSORIES

The ACC chassis is designed to accept an ESS compatible buttstock, with a few modifications to provide extra weight and solid lockup of adjustments, whilst still being tooless. The MDT Vertical Grip was designed at the same time as this chassis and is built for the competitive shooter.

The ACC chassis accepts AICS-pattern external box magazines, and supports installation of M-Lok patterned accessories along the forend. The full length Arca/RRS standard dovetail allows shooters to mount a wide variety of accessories with infinite adjustment, which is now a standard among the competitive community.

MDT ADJUSTABLE CORE COMPETITION ACC CHASSIS SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS

  • CNC Machined from 6061 Aluminum
  • Chassis, buttstock and grip weight: 5.9lb – 13.3lb, depending on the rifle model and number of weights added to the system
  • Cerakote finish in Tactical Grey
  • 17″ of available ARCA/RRS dovetail, with retention screw so that accessories don’t fall off mid-stage
  • M-LOK pattern attachment system on all 3 faces of the forend
  • Accepts most AR-15 pistol grips, but designed with the MDT Vertical Grip in mind
  • Wider, ergonomic thumb shelves than previous chassis systems
  • Mag latch limiter to prevent over camming and pinching of magazines
  • Uses our proprietary ESS buttstock interface
  • Free floating barrel channel with removable end cap for interior weight installation and adjustment

VICTRIX ARMAMENTS SCORPIO TCT PRECISION SNIPER RIFLE

Victrix Armaments Scorpio TCT Precision Rifle

I first learned of Victrix Armaments from the EuroOptics website and did a bit of further reading in a Tactical Life Article. According to that article Victrix Armaments rifles are being imported by Beretta. My research however leads me to the conclusion that Beretta owns Victrix Armaments. The product line appears to be geared towards military and law enforcement sniper and counter sniper applications.

The Victrix Scorpio Mille rifle is uniquely crafted by Victrix armaments with Military and Law Enforcement in mind. The Scorpio is part of the Minerva Series and ensures the highest degree of accuracy and repeatability. When it comes to long range precision shooting, magnum calibers like the .300 Winchester Magnum, .300 Norma Magnum, or .338 Lapua Magnum are a natural choice, that’s why the Scorpio has chamberings for all three. The cleverly designed, fully modular rifle chassis (FMRC) allows you to customize your rifle for a variety of applications. The chassis is also made of aluminum alloy and hard anodized to prevent scratching and abrasion. The Scorpio is a rifle that celebrates precision and attention to detail.

Remington 700 Enhanced Sniper Rifle ESR-1 86679

Remington 700 ESR-1 Enhanced Sniper Rifle 86679

It would appear that Remington refuses to let the XM2010 Sniper Rifle platform die. The XM2010 was renamed M2010 and now it’s once again revamped with a .308 Winchester specific designation the “700 ESR-1”. The picture on the Remington Defense website appears to be the same old recycled picture from the XM2010/M2010 .300 Winchester Magnum pages. The Remington ESR-1 is currently available to law enforcement only.

Eurooptic sells the complete rifle package to the public under the original XM2010 name in .300 Winchester Magnum.

Note: Remington worked with Cadex on this early on. Cadex has been evolving their chassis ever since. If the XM2010 is out of your price range check out Cadex for a more up to date design.
